Matthew 25-28

Tuesday February 9, 2010
Matthew 25-28

Chapter 25, verses 1-13:
These verses tell the story of the Five Wise Virgins and the Five Foolish Virgins.
Verse 13: "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hur wherein the Son of man cometh."
We need to always be prepared for the Coming of Christ. We never know when that might be.

Verses 14-30:
These verses tell the story of the Talents.
Verse 29: "For unto everyone that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath."
If we do not do as God says, then we will lose our Soul in the end. If we will follow God, then we will gain our Soul in the end.

Verses 31-46:
These verses tell the story of the Goats and Sheep at the Judgement.
Verse 40: "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
If we take care of those who need it, here on earth, then we have done as God asked of us. It is like we did things for Jesus.
Verse 45: "Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me."
If we can't even take the time to help someone in need, then why should God help us out?

Chapter 26, verse 41: "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptatio: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
We need to always pray that God will keep us from temptation. We may think that we can keep from doing those things that we shouldn't, but we are not as strong as we'd like to be. We are human. We need God's help.

Chapters 27 & 28:
These two chapters are very powerful chapters. They tell the story of Jesus' death. We should read these chapters often, to remind us of the awesome thing that He did for us.

Tomorrow's chapters are Job 16-18.
