Mark 1-4

Chapter 4, verses 3-9:

   This is the Parable of the Sower

Vevses 14-20:

   Jesus explains the Parable to His Apostles.

The Seed is the Word. Some of the Seed is sown by the Wayside. Satan comes and immediately takes the Seed away.

Some is sown on Stony Ground. These people hear the Word, rejoice and get all excited about it. But, they are persecuted and decide that it's not worth it, and they give up.

Some is sown in the Thorns. They hear the Word, and follow after it. But, the cares and temptations of the World, choke out the Word and they go back to the way they were.

But, some Seed is sown on Good Ground. They hear the Word and thrive on it. They go out into the world and soon gather others who follow. Some bring in a few, and some bring in a lot.

The next chapters are Job 19-21.
