2 Samuel 5-9

2 Samuel 6:6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
:7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
  As you know, God had told the Israelites that they were to NEVER touch the ark. Uzzah only touched it long enough to keep it from falling (which they were transporting it in a cart, not with the poles), and God struck him down dead! God said 'Don't Touch!' Not, 'Don't Touch, Unless.....'  I use this verse for my boys quite often. They will do something they were told not to do, and their response is generally, 'I only did it because.....' I always tell them that 'I told you not to', not 'don't, unless....' They don't like that so much. hehe
