Proverbs 22&23

Proverb 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
It is better to have a good reputation, than to be rich.

:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
We only get one chance with each child. We have to work hard and train them to follow God's Will, while they are young. If we do this, they will stick to it. If we fail at this, they have been trained to not follow after God, and they will stick to that.

:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Children are foolish by nature, but as parents, we are instructed to drive that foolishness from them.

23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Our children will not die from our discipline. But, they will have eternal death, if we do not train them in the way they should go.

The next chapters are 1 Kings 14-18.
