Genesis 36-39
Chapter 37 starts the story of Joseph. At the end of this chapter, his brothers have sold him to the Midianites, who in turn, sold him to Potipher, an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.
Chapter 39 continues in this story. Joseph finds favor with Potipher, and is made head of all Potipher's household. Potipher's wife tries to seduce Joseph. Joseph ends up in prison, because she lies about what happened. But, Joseph again finds favor with the keeper of the prison. He makes Joseph in charge of all the prisoners, and didn't worry about what they did.
